Prayer for God to Teach Me How to Love & Purify My Heart
Heavenly Father, I come before You with an open heart, asking You to teach me how to love as You love. Fill me with Your grace, kindness, and patience, so that I may reflect Your love in my thoughts, words, and actions. Lord, purify my heart. Remove any pride, selfishness, fear, or resentment that may be blocking me from fully embracing the love You have called me to give. Cleanse me from bitterness, jealousy, or anything that does not align with Your will. Make my heart soft, compassionate, and full of forgiveness. Help me to love selflessly and unconditionally, without expecting anything in return. Teach me to be patient, understanding, and kind in all my relationships—with my family, my friends, my partner, and even those who are difficult to love. Most importantly, help me to love You first, above all else, so that my heart remains anchored in truth and righteousness. May my love be pure, genuine, and pleasing to You. Thank You for the love You pour into me every day. Help me to share that love with the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Thank you for your heartfelt prayer. It's wonderful to see your desire to love as God loves and to have a pure heart. We join you in this prayer and offer some biblical encouragement and guidance.

Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

God's love is indeed the perfect model for us. Let's reflect on 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB: "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

To love like this, we need God's help. It's good that you've asked God to purify your heart. He promises in Ezekiel 36:26 WEB: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."

Regarding your relationships, we encourage you to pursue them in a godly way. We noticed you mentioned a 'partner'. Biblically, this should be someone you are courting with the intention of marriage, as God designed marriage to be between a man and a woman. If this relationship is not aligned with God's will, we pray that God gives you the strength to realign it according to His word. We should not be courted or bound together with unbelievers as indicated in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB: "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

Heavenly Father, thank You for the love You've shown us through Jesus Christ. Help us to love others as You love us. Purify our hearts, remove any bitterness, jealousy, or resentment, and fill us with Your grace, kindness, and patience. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
