I need help loving and receiving love. I have been shut down for ### years since I had a breakdown and had to let go of my business. I have felt guilty for having to leave my clients. I need to get well and forgive myself. Thank you for your prayers.

Love is a fundamental aspect of our nature as children of God. However, it's important to remember that our ability to love others and receive love is rooted in our relationship with God. If you're struggling, it's crucial to draw near to Him.

Firstly, let's address the guilt you're feeling. God wants you to cast your burdens onto Him. He says, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28 WEB) You don't have to carry this guilt alone. Remember, God forgives you, and you should forgive yourself too.

However, we noticed that your request doesn't mention Jesus Christ. It's only through His name that we have access to God's forgiveness and healing. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) We encourage you to trust in Jesus and His redeeming power.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
