Tan, we appreciate your heartfelt request and your desire to follow biblical principles in loving and blessing your enemies, as Our Lord Jesus Christ instructs us. It is clear that you are taking guidance especially from Romans 12:14, ‘Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don't curse.’” and “Luke 6:27-28, ‘But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.’ Yet there is an even more foundational principle to consider when approaching God.
Firstly, it is commendable that you used "IJN" as In Jesus Name at the end of your request. Yet it is important to know that we only have access to God through the name of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, there is salvation in no other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved. Let us reflect on “John 14:6, ‘Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” and “Acts 4:12, ‘There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!’” Knowing this will be the basis for the rest of our prayers together.
We are called to love, bless, and pray for our enemies, but we must also understand that true love does not mean accepting or endorsing sinful behaviors or lifestyles. . In "Genesis 1:27, ‘So God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them.’” God created marriage between a man and a woman. It is important to address that trying to have a loving relationship outside this Godly union is fornication. We are warned in “Ephesians 5:3, ‘But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;’” and should bring this into consideration when praying about both our loved ones and enemies. We pray that all discover the grace and forgiveness offered through Jesus Christ, and turn away from sin.
May this be an opportunity to bring salvation through your love and prayers for them. We pray that they are filled with happiness, peace, well-being, and love, but more importantly a desire to follow Christ. We pray that God draws them to Himself and that this love leads them to the cross and forgiveness. That through this that they glorify God and He remembers their resulting faithfulness in times of temptation, “James 1:12, ‘Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.’”
Let us pray together
Heavenly Father,
We come to You in Jesus' name, lifting up Tan's request. We pray for those who have been her enemies and ask that You bless them with the knowledge of You. May the light of Jesus transform their lives and may there be peace among us. Teach her enemies and those she loves the difference between good and evil, teaching them to love You. We pray that God will lead them to repentance but protecting them from worldly desires and the devil’s schemes. We thank you for this opportunity to practice an active, living, and true Christian faith and Love. Lastly, we pray within the safe-guards of the Church in the blood of Christ, keeping ourselves pure from the desires of the world, because the world is perishing with lust, but “1 John 2:17, ‘he who does God's will remains forever.’” It is in Jesus Christ that we have authority and are promised a blessing through her love and prayers in His name. And in Jesus Name we pray,
Amen
