Rynbel, we understand your feelings for this young man in your college, but let us first align our hearts with God's will and His Word.
Firstly, we commend you for putting Jesus first. As it is written in Matthew 6:33 WEB, "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." This is the foundation of our faith and life.
However, we must address that God calls us to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, it says, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" This verse applies to close relationships and marriages. We encourage you to seek a relationship with a fellow believer, as this is God's will for His children.
Regarding signs, God can indeed perform miracles, but He usually guides us through His Word, His Spirit, and wise counsel. We encourage you not to rely on signs like the color of a shirt, but to seek God's will through prayer and His Word. Remember, God looks at the heart, not outward appearances (1 Samuel 16:7 WEB).
We also want to address the belief that love is beyond religion and race. While it's true that God's love is for all people, regardless of race, God's Word does set guidelines for our relationships, including that we should marry fellow believers. Our relationships should honor and glorify God.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up Rynbel. We thank You for her desire to put You first. We ask that You guide her heart and mind according to Your will. Help her to discern Your plan for her life, especially regarding relationships. We pray that You will bring a godly spouse into her life at the right time, someone who will love and cherish her, and together they may glorify Your name. Help her to trust in You and not rely on signs. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Rynbel, continue to trust in God's plan for your life. He knows what's best for you, and His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB). Keep praying and seeking His will, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).
