We are so glad to hear your desire to love Jesus more deeply as your first love. This is a wonderful prayer request, and we are here to support you in this journey. In Revelation 2:4 WEB, Jesus says to the church in Ephesus, "But I have this against you, that you left your first love." It's crucial for all believers to maintain their first love for Jesus, as this is the foundation of our faith and life. We may have to sacrifice other things to achieve this goal.
Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 22:37-38 WEB, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment." This verse reminds us that our love for God should be our top priority, and that we should love Him with every fiber of our being. When we do this, our emotions will align with God's will, and we will experience His peace and joy.
If you are experiencing imbalanced emotions, it may be a sign that you need to refocus your heart and mind on Jesus. In Colossians 3:1-2 WEB, it says, "If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth." When we set our minds on things above, our emotions will follow.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister in Christ who desires to love You more deeply as her first love. We ask that You would help her to set her mind on things above, and to love You with all her heart, soul, and mind. We pray that You would help her to refocus her emotions on You, and that she would experience Your peace and joy in her life. We ask this all in Jesus name. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word daily, praying and seeking His face. As you do this, you will find that your love for Jesus will grow stronger and more powerful each day. Remember that nothing on this earth can fill your heart like Jesus can. He is the only one who can satisfy your deepest needs and desires. Keep seeking Him with all your heart, and you will find Him.
If you have not already, make sure you believe in Jesus Christ. We can only access God through Jesus Christ. He also is the only way to salvation. For the word of God says in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, whereby we must be saved" WEB. Believe in Jesus Christ for salvation.
