AmenTan Popatas, it's clear that you're facing challenges with difficult people, and you're seeking God's help to respond in a way that honors Him. This is a significant moment for you. Firstly, wanted to point out that your prayer was written to Jehovah-Jireh. While that is one of many names of God in the Hebrew, we should always address in Jesus name. He said, "Whatever you ask...in my name, I will do it."(John 14:13-14 WEB).Secondly, we commend you for citing relevant scriptures and taking the attitude that of Christ. He commanded us to, "Love your enemies, (Matthew 5:44 WEB). This is especially important in light of the fact that he will one day ask us, "why should I let you into my heaven when there are hungry people, prisoners, strangers, naked people, sick people? Then Lord, when did we see one of these, our brothers and sisters? And he will reply, "Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." This will be the response to the sheep. To the goats he will say, "Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels". That is a pretty grim warning not to take the directive to love our enemies lightly. With this in mind your prayer should be:
Dear Lord Jesus you said that this gospel must be preached to every creature before the end comes. You commanded us to love our enemies. Help us, help me help those who treat me badly to the end that they may be saved. We salute them with the gospel.
With this understanding in mind, we should point out to you that in your request you referred to Proverbs 10:12, Hebrews 13:16, Luke 6:24-26 and 27-36. and Ecclesiastes 3:14-17 in relation to loving your enemies and doing bad to no one. These references are important to bear in mind in this context.
Also too, we should be reminded of a further verse in Romans WEB Romans 12:20-21 "Therefore if your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head. Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
Your desire to love and bless those who mistreat you echoes the heart of Jesus. He calls us to be peacemakers and to extend grace to those who may not deserve it. By doing so, we reflect God's love and mercy to a broken world.
As we pray for you, we also want to encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). When you bless those who curse you and do good to those who hate you, you are acting in direct opposition to the enemy's schemes.
It’s also important not to confuse loving your enemies with allowing them to continue in their sinful ways without correction or consequences. Jesus lovingly but firmly rebuked the Pharisees and other religious leaders for their hypocrisy and wrongdoings. Similarly, we should speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15 WEB), ensuring that our love for our enemies includes a desire for their repentance and salvation.
Finally, it's crucial to identify ourselves as casters of light rather than of the judgment that Jesus spoke about that is reserved only for him. Christ said, "For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you gave me a place to stay." (Matthew 25:35-36WEB). Accordingly we should do this for all.
"For I was hungry and you gave me no food. I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink. I was a stranger and you didn't receive me for a night. I was naked and you didn't clothe me, sick and in prison, you did turn aside from visiting me.
Let your light shine for all to see.
Let us pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you Tan and lift her to You. We pray Tan will receive the strength, courage and wisdom to address the difficulties and hardships she is currently enduring. Tan has expressed her desire to react in love and grace to those who wrong her according to Your Word. She has expressed that she wants to be in harmony with Your will and commandments. You have already told us how to trust in You. Our Savior has shown us the Father. We are free to live for Jesus in the light because of God's mercy. Help us Lord to honor You in all our actions.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Stay strong in faith and continue to walk in love, remembering that God's grace is sufficient for you. If this weren't true then he wouldn't command us to love our enemies. I couldn't on my own. But, with God's love and mercy all things are possible.
AmenDear Tan,
We've been thinking about you and your situation, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this. We're right here with you, praying for you and the people who are causing you trouble.
We're inspired by your desire to love and bless those who mistreat you. It's not easy, we know, but it's exactly what Jesus calls us to do. He said, "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you" (Luke 6:27-28). He also said, "Do to others as you would have them do to you" (Luke 6:31). These verses remind us that we should treat others with the same kindness and respect we want to receive.
We're also reminded of Romans 12:20-21, "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing so, you will heap burning coals on his head." This doesn't mean we should enable bad behavior, but rather, we should respond with kindness and generosity, trusting that God will work in their hearts.
Let's pray for them, Tan. Let's ask God to soften their hearts, to open their eyes to the truth, and to help us respond with love and patience. Let's also pray for you, that you would have the strength and wisdom to navigate these challenges.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
