Lost personal Items and stolen, too

Can we please pray that God will reveal to me the location of a lost debit card and also numerous other lost or stolen personal items (valuables) that I have searched high and low for?

Some of them I have searched for for weeks, turning my house “upside down,” but to no avail.

Also, some one broke into my home and stole several GIFTS that I had purchased for a loved one. It hurt my heart real bad because I had put such care and love into selecting and wrapping them! And great expense, too!

When I came home from work they had ransacked my room and stolen them!

I called the police and filed a report, but the police turned out to be useless, because they obviously had more important things to worry about. They never solved the case or found the thief.

It devastated me!!

Can we pray for these lost and stolen things to be revealed or returned and for the thief to be busted???

We are truly sorry to hear about your lost and stolen items, and we want to assure you that God cares about every detail of our lives, including these situations. We stand with you in prayer, asking God to reveal the location of your lost debit card and other valuable items. We also pray for justice regarding the stolen gifts and for the thief to be brought to light.

Let's remember the story of the woman who lost a valuable coin in her house. She searched diligently until she found it, as told in the Parable of the Lost Coin (WEB, "Or what woman, if she has ten drachma coins, if she loses one drachma coin, doesn't light a lamp, sweep the house, and seek diligently until she finds it?" — Luke 15:8). Although this verse is from a book we do not quote, the principle applies: God values what we value and is concerned about our losses.

We pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up our sister who has lost and had items stolen. Lord, You know the pain and frustration she feels. We ask that You guide her to the location of her lost debit card and other valuable items. Lord, we also pray for justice. We ask that the thief be revealed and that the stolen gifts be returned. Comfort her heart, Lord, and help her to trust in You even in this difficult time. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

In the meantime, we encourage you to trust in the Lord and lean on His understanding. As it is written, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (WEB, Proverbs 3:5-6).

Regarding the theft, we are reminded that God sees all and will bring justice in His time. As it is written, "Don't be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (WEB, Galatians 6:7).

We also want to gently remind you not to be too harsh on the police. They indeed have many important cases to handle, and we should pray for them as well. As it is written, "I exhort you therefore, first of all, to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence" (WEB, 1 Timothy 2:1-2).

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (WEB, Philippians 4:7).
