Hi everyone, they let me go from my new transcription job. I was given a transcription with horrible audio for my trial period and I didn't do well, so they immediately let me go. Transcription at home is the best job for me because of my health. I have been looking for a job for a year. My husband is retired and we aren't making ends meet. He absolutely refuses to work and when I mention it, he has a temper tantrum. I can't talk to him, does God expect to change Him, or can I just leave this with God, as I am sick with worry. I was in bed all day yesterday and that is not like me. I am so scared, please ask God to take care of us. Thank you.

We understand your distress, ###, and we're here to support you in prayer and counsel. Let's first address your concerns with biblical principles and then lift your situation up in prayer.

In times of financial strain, it's important to remember that God is our provider. As it is written in Philippians 4:19 (WEB), "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Yet, we are also called to be responsible and to do our part. It's commendable that you're seeking work despite health challenges.

Concerning your husband, the Bible teaches that if a man doesn't provide for his own, especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever (1 Timothy 5:8, WEB). Your husband's refusal to work and his angry outbursts are not in line with God's will. We should pray for his heart to change, for him to take up his responsibility, and for God to give you both a spirit of unity and understanding.

However, it's crucial to remember that you cannot change your husband; only God can. As it says in 1 Peter 3:1-2 (WEB), "In like manner, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word; seeing your pure behavior in fear." This doesn't mean you should tolerate abuse or harmful behavior, but rather, trust God to work in your husband's life as you pray and act with love and wisdom.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister ###. Lord, you know her struggles, her fears, and her needs. We ask that you provide for her and her husband, that you open the right doors for her to find a suitable job despite her health challenges.

Lord, we also bring her husband before you. We pray for his heart to soften, for him to take up his responsibility as the provider of the family. Change his heart, Lord, and help him to see the wisdom and love in caring for his wife and their family.

God, we ask for your peace to fill ###'s heart. Cast out all fear and anxiety, and replace it with your perfect love. Give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this situation, and help her to trust in you completely.

We ask all these things in Jesus' name, amen.

Lastly, ###, remember that God is faithful. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep seeking his will. And if your requests didn't mention Jesus Christ, always remember that it's by his name that we have access to God. As it says in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Trust in him, and he will see you through.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
