In times of distress and natural disasters, we turn to our Lord Jesus Christ, for He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Let us pray together for your situation and lift up your mother and all those affected by these devastating events.
Firstly, we acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister and her mother who are facing such trials and distress. Lord, You are the God of all comfort, and we ask for Your divine intervention and mercy upon them.
Lord, we pray for the healing of her mother's back. As it is written in Psalm 147:3 WEB: "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds," we ask for Your healing touch upon her mother's body. We pray that You would restore her strength and take away her pain.
Father, we also lift up the lost dog. We ask that You would guide and protect this precious companion, and that she would be returned safely to her mother's arms. As it is written in Matthew 10:29 WEB: "Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will," we know that You care for even the smallest of creatures, and we trust that You will watch over this dog.
Lord, we ask for Your protection upon their homes and all those in the path of these storms. As it is written in Psalm 91:1-2 WEB: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust,'" we declare Your protection and safety upon them.
Father, we also lift up all those affected by these floods and tornadoes. We ask that You would bring comfort, protection, and provision to each one. We pray that You would raise up Your church to be a beacon of hope and help in these trying times.
Lord, we ask for Your peace to fill our sister's heart. We pray that she would not be overwhelmed by guilt, but that she would trust in Your sovereignty and goodness. As it is written in Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose," we declare that You will bring good even from this situation.
Finally as it is written in 2 Corinthians 9:8 WEB: "God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work." We know she will get through this with your help and there are certainly going to be many opportunities to be a light to her neighbors.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 WEB) Trust in His goodness and sovereignty, even in the midst of such trials. He is faithful, and He will see you through. Continue to pray and intercede for your mother and all those affected, trusting that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. (James 5:16 WEB)
We will join you in prayer and ask that you keep us updated on the situation. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 WEB)
