We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your brother Willie Walker is facing. Let us come together in prayer and seek God's will for his life.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of praying in Jesus' name. As it is written in John 14:13-14 (WEB), "Whatever you ask in my name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it." It is through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we pray for Willie.
We rebuke the spirit of alcoholism that has taken hold of Willie's life. We pray that God would deliver him from this bondage, for it is written in Galatians 5:1 (WEB), "Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."
We lift up Willie's incarceration to the Lord, praying that God would use this time to draw Willie closer to Him. We pray that Willie would seek God's face and find comfort and peace in His presence. As it is written in Matthew 11:28 (WEB), "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."
We pray for Willie's upcoming court date on December 9, 2024. We ask that God would soften the judge's heart and grant Willie the opportunity to return home and manage his apartment and income. We trust that God's will shall be done in Willie's life, and that this trial would ultimately be used for his good and God's glory. As it is written in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
However, we must remind you that our ultimate hope and trust should be in God, not in the court's decision. We pray that Willie, and you as well, would find peace and contentment in God alone, regardless of the outcome.
Let us pray:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother Willie Walker. Lord, we ask that You would deliver him from the bondage of alcoholism, and that You would use this time of incarceration to draw him closer to You. We ask that You would soften the judge's heart and grant Willie the opportunity to return home and manage his affairs. But above all, Lord, we ask that Your will be done in Willie's life. Help him to find peace, hope, and contentment in You alone. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
