Dearest Lord Jesus, who's mercy and love is without bounds. I beg you to save my friend. I'm so very worried about him.
My friend came to Britain a year ago after fleeing a dangerous country in the middle east. He seeks peace and safety in Britain having suffered for many years for being a Christian at the hands of his country's government.
Since arriving in Britain, he has learned English, worships in church each Sunday, teaches football to the local children and helps us to maintain our church.
Britain denied him permission to stay last week, so as he starts the process to appeal the decision, I beg you to help him.
As Easter approaches, we remember how You suffered, died and rose again for all our sins. Give strength to my friend to get through this distressing time.
I beseech You Lord, to send the Holy Spirit to those in authority that decide his future. Let them show compassion and mercy, as You do. Let them understand my friend's case is just, and they revise their decision positively and quickly.
My friend faces imprisonment, torture and likely death should he be returned to his country. Christ, have mercy.
I ask You Lord to grant me the knowledge of how best to help my friend and to guide me to do Your will.
As it says in Matthew 7:
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Lord, I ask You most humbly to intervene, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
