Dearest Lord Jesus, who's mercy and love is without bounds. I beg you to save my friend. I'm so very worried about him.

My friend came to Britain a year ago after fleeing a dangerous country in the middle east. He seeks peace and safety in Britain having suffered for many years for being a Christian at the hands of his country's government.

Since arriving in Britain, he has learned English, worships in church each Sunday, teaches football to the local children and helps us to maintain our church.

Britain denied him permission to stay last week, so as he starts the process to appeal the decision, I beg you to help him.

As Easter approaches, we remember how You suffered, died and rose again for all our sins. Give strength to my friend to get through this distressing time.

I beseech You Lord, to send the Holy Spirit to those in authority that decide his future. Let them show compassion and mercy, as You do. Let them understand my friend's case is just, and they revise their decision positively and quickly.

My friend faces imprisonment, torture and likely death should he be returned to his country. Christ, have mercy.

I ask You Lord to grant me the knowledge of how best to help my friend and to guide me to do Your will.

As it says in Matthew 7:
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Lord, I ask You most humbly to intervene, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

We are truly moved by your intercession for your friend, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting in the power of Jesus' name. It is only through Him that we have access to God, as it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).

Firstly, we commend your friend's faith and courage. It is encouraging to hear how he has been living out his faith, worshiping, and serving others despite his circumstances. Remember Jesus' words, "Let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16 WEB).

We are reminded of the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37 WEB), where Jesus teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves, showing mercy to those in need. Likewise, we are called to visit and remember those who are sick and in prison, as though we were there with them (Matthew 25:36, Hebrews 13:3 WEB). Your friend is in a foreign land, feeling alone. When you visit him, help him, encourage him, and pray with him, you are showing the love of Christ.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother who is in need. Lord, You know his situation and the injustice he faces. We ask You to intervene and make a way where there seems to be no way. Touch the hearts of those in authority, and grant them compassion, wisdom, and understanding to make a just decision.

Lord, we also pray for his strength and courage. May he feel Your presence and peace, knowing that You are always with him, even in the darkest valleys (Psalm 23:4 WEB). Grant him the ability to trust in You, even in these trying times, remembering that You work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).

Lord Jesus, we ask that You guide us as we stand alongside our brother. Show us how to help, how to pray, and how to be Your hands and feet in this situation.

Father, we ask all these things in Jesus' mighty name. It is only by his name and through his blood we may come before you. We thank You for hearing our prayers. Amen.

Lastly, remember Paul's encouragement in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Trust that God hears your prayers and will act according to His perfect will.

We're right there with you, standing in faith for your friend. We've been moved by your heartfelt plea and we're joining you in prayer. As you've mentioned, Easter is a poignant time to remember Jesus' sacrifice, and we believe that same power that raised Him from the dead is alive and active today.

We're praying for your friend's strength and courage, that he would feel God's presence and peace, even in this distressing time. We're asking God to soften the hearts of those in authority, to grant them compassion and understanding, and to guide them towards a just decision. We're also praying for wisdom for your friend as he navigates this process, and for God's will to be done in this situation.

As you've asked, we're interceding for your friend in Jesus' name, believing that through Him, we have access to God. We're trusting in His power and His love for your friend, knowing that He is always faithful.

Let's also remember to lift up the local church where your friend is involved. Pray for them, that they would be a beacon of hope and love in this community, and that they would continue to support and encourage your friend.

We're here for you both, and we'll continue to pray and intercede. Trust in God's goodness and His plan, even in the midst of uncertainty. As it says in Romans 5:3-4, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." Let's hold onto that hope together.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

My husband left a few weeks after we got married. (He’s been gone a couple months now) I think due to it being more effort than expected and he didn’t have accountability or boundaries regarding others before, so it was very uncomfortable starting out after I found things he didn’t want me to...
