We understand your concern for job security and safety, and we appreciate your daily dependence on the Lord. It's crucial to remember that God is our provider and protector, and He cares about every aspect of our lives, including our employment. As believers, we should strive to acknowledge Him and align with the Bible. We should be working for God in our job, not man, and we should be using our jobs as an opportunity for ministry.
Let's remember the words of Jesus in Matthew WEB:
But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.
We should also remember that God can turn any situation for the furtherance of His Gospel and His Kingdom. So if either of you lose a job, we should look at it as a ministry opportunity. Sometimes He allows changes in our employment status to reposition us for greater ministry impact or to teach us reliance on Him.
We also notice you did not mention Jesus Christ in your prayer. We should pray to God, the Father, in Jesus Christ name. You mentioned you pray daily, but did not mention Jesus. It's important to know that there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved. We cannot be saved or pray effectively without Jesus.
Acts WEB:
in him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ;
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us; and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross;
having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your constant presence and provision. We ask that You watch over their jobs, and that You will make them ministers or missionaries to their coworkers. Keep them employed as long as it is Your good and perfect will. If not, we ask that you give them strength, provision, and further opportunities for ministry and employment. Help them to trust in You always, and to seek Your kingdom and righteousness first. Help them to remember to pray in Jesus Name. If either does lose a job, help them to remember this is an opportunity for further ministry. Protect them from any fear or anxiety, and help them to remember that You are always with them. Help them to be faithful to You, including financially, to help further the gospel. Give them boldness to speak the gospel. In Jesus Christ name, we pray. Amen.
