Lord, pls help ###. It’s as if my past is taking control over my present. I feel as if I’m connected to someone from my past and cannot move on. Pls kindly show ### what I should do.

Firstly, we want to assure you that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1, WEB). Your past is forgiven, and you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB). It's important to claim this truth and live in the freedom that Christ has given you.

However, if there are unresolved issues or unconfessed sins from your past, it's crucial to address them. The Bible tells us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective" (James 5:16, WEB).

Regarding your connection to someone from your past, it's important to examine the nature of this relationship. If it's not aligned with biblical principles, you may need to seek God's strength to let it go. Remember, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB).

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother/sister who feels trapped by their past. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and healing over any unresolved issues. Give them the strength to confess and turn away from any sins that may be holding them back. Help them to sever any ties that are not in line with Your will. Guide them towards relationships that honor and glorify You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, comfort them with Your love, and give them the power to move forward in the freedom that Christ has given them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to stand firm in the liberty by which Christ has made you free (Galatians 5:1, WEB). Trust that God has a purpose and a plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). He wants you to move forward and live in the abundance of life that Jesus came to give you (John 10:10, WEB).
