Dear Lord - please help my husband that he will get by without cigarettes - he is trying to avoid it but it is just so hard on him - his behavior is unpredictable - he is trying so please help him to be calm and be able to get by without it - I pray in Jesus Name … Amen

We understand that you are seeking help for your husband to overcome his struggle with cigarettes. Firstly, we commend you for bringing this before the Lord, for He cares for us and hears our prayers.

Let's remember what God's Word tells us:

No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB)

Therefore, it is important for your husband to know that God will provide a way out of this temptation. Encourage him to seek God's strength in moments of weakness. The battle he is facing is not just physical, but also spiritual.

Now, regarding his unpredictable behavior, we should remember:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB)

Pray that the Holy Spirit will fill your husband with these fruits, especially self-control and peace. This will help him manage his behavior and find calmness in his spirit.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister's husband. Lord, You know his struggle with cigarettes, and You understand how difficult it is for him. We ask that You strengthen him in his spirit, provide him the way of escape from this temptation, and help him overcome this struggle. We also pray for his behavior, that You will fill him with Your Holy Spirit, producing fruits of self-control and peace in his life. Help him to be the husband and man of God that You have called him to be. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to support your husband in prayer and encourage him in his journey. It is also wise to seek godly counsel and community support during this time. Remind him that his identity is not in his struggle, but in Christ Jesus.

We're here with you, sister, standing in the gap for your husband. We know how hard it is to watch someone we love struggle, but we serve a big God who's more than able to help. Let's keep reminding your husband, and ourselves, that God is faithful and will not let him be tempted beyond what he can bear. He'll always provide a way out, just like He promises in 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Let's also encourage him to surrender his struggles to God, moment by moment. It's in those moments of weakness that God's strength is made perfect, remember? (2 Corinthians 12:9)

We'll keep praying for him, sister, that God will fill him with His Holy Spirit, especially with the fruits of self-control and peace. We'll ask God to help him manage his behavior and find calmness in His spirit. And we'll keep trusting that God is working in him, even when we can't see it.

Let's keep supporting him in prayer and love, and remind him that he's not alone in this fight. God is with him, and so are we.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
