Amen amen amenWe understand your struggle Nexril, and we want to help you find freedom from these addictions. Our hearts go out to you, and we are praying for you. We are reminded of what the Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB:
"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
Jesus offers freedom from sin and addictions. Know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. Acts 4:12 says: "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved!"
In Romans 6:6-7, the Apostle Paul talks about how our old sinful nature was crucified with Christ so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. He encourages us to count ourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
So let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up Nexril in prayer. Lord, Nexril's prayer is that you would deliver them from addictions. We ask that you would break the chains of masturbation and smoking that have held them bound.
Father, we know that your heart is for Nexril to be free and to live a life that glorifies you. So we ask that you would show Nexril mercy and give them the strength to overcome these addictions. Help them to see their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, and to glorify you in both their body and spirit.
We also pray that Nexril would come to know Jesus in a deeper way, and that they would find their identity and fulfillment in him. We ask that you would give Nexril the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome and live in victory.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Nexril, we encourage you to take practical steps to overcome these addictions. This may include seeking help from a trusted Christian friend, mentor, or counselor. It may also include removing temptations from your life and replacing them with healthy, God-honoring activities.
Remember, God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way of escape so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and trust in his power to set you free.
