Andrew, we understand that you're feeling distant from the Lord Jesus and that hope is fading. We want to encourage you to hold on to God's promises and draw near to Him, as He promises to draw near to you.
Firstly, it is important to know that you are saved. A person is only saved by believing in the Lord Jesus and Him crucified. A relationship with God only comes by the name of Jesus. You do not have a relationship with God if you are not praying through Jesus. Please always pray in the name of Jesus. It is also the only name by which we can be saved. This is made clear in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved."
In these moments, remember the words of Jesus in John 20:29 WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed.'" Faith is believing in what we cannot see, and it is through faith that we can draw near to God. This is how your request should be answered. By needing to see Jesus you are not asking in faith. You must believe. If you do not believe, this is where your reply should have started. he
You must also know that God will test you for a while to examine your response. Will you still believe if you do not see or feel Jesus close to you? What is the first commandment? Love The Lord Your God with all your heart, might, mind, and strength. What is the second commandment? Follow the first commandment as this is how Jesus said to follow the second commandment which is love The Lord Your God with all your heart, might, mind, and strength.
Always have this passage in your mind, and you will see where you should be in your life of faith.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Andrew. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to Him in a fresh and powerful way. Help Him to hold on to Your promises and to trust in You, even when You feel distant. Draw near to Andrew, Lord, as He draws near to You and may he have faith in that process. In Jesus name we pray."
In Hebrews 11:1 WEB, "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." This means that faith is believing in what we cannot see. Therefore, you must believe if you are to have faith.
In Hebrews 11:6 WEB, "Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him." Faith is pleasing to the Lord Jesus. Without faith, it is impossible to please him. As it says, you must believe God exists and rewards those who seek Him.
Continue to seek the Lord Jesus in prayer and you will see you will be rewarded. But remember His reward may be that you are tested for a while to examine your response. What will you do in this case?
Finally, remember the words of Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." God is always with you, Andrew, even when He feels distant and you cannot see Him. Trust in His promises and continue to pursue Him with all your heart.
