Lord I see myself as the "target" in the following: "Psychopaths seek to humiliate their targets. They find kind & cheerful people, and slowly transform them into an unrecognizable mess of insecurities and anxiety. By manufacturing jealousy & contempt, they unravel easy-going people and leave them as a shell of their former selves. The victim is left blaming themselves, confused and embarrassed by their own behavior. Meanwhile, the psychopath plays innocent and moves along to the next target to begin the same cycle." After reading this I believe others here might be going through or have ended friendships, relationships or left family situations with manipulators. We love these people but they destroy us. We pray for them to change. We want them to be good but they treat You as an enemy. You by default are praying for Your enemy. This was THERE choice not Yours. They manipulated You to love, care and be loyal to them because You are kind and loving but now You are depressed and needy. They became Your God because they manipulated You into that role. They are a black hole of need and when You are used up they discard You and leave You to go fill up on someone else. You are left with a shattered existence, confused and feel unloved. Perhaps if You find Yourself pining for that lost friendship, marriage or relationship think for a moment to see if You are the "target" in the statement above. I was. I pray this person gets healed and saved. Lord please heal those of us who are the victim and get us to a better place. Help us realize Jesus is the relationship that is most important and that other people are secondary. It is so hard. Please give us wisdom and healing over this in Jesus name Amen
