We are so glad you have reached out with your prayer request, and we want you to know that you are not alone in your struggle. We stand with you in prayer and support as you seek freedom from gambling addiction.
Firstly, we want to address the use of "###" in your prayer. We understand that this could be a way to refer to God, but we want to emphasize the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" It is through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we pray.
Now, let's address the issue at hand. Gambling addiction is a serious matter, but we serve a God who is more than able to deliver you from it. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB, it is written, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with a gambling addiction. Lord, we acknowledge that this is a struggle that they cannot overcome alone, but we know that with You, all things are possible. We pray that You will break the chains of addiction and give them the strength and courage to resist the temptation to gamble. Help them to fix their eyes on You, Jesus, and not on the temporal pleasures of this world. Guide them towards resources, support groups, and Christian counselors who can assist them in their journey to recovery. Surround them with Your love, peace, and grace, and help them to remember that their identity is in You and not in their addiction. We ask this all in Jesus' name, Amen.
We encourage you to take practical steps towards recovery. This could include seeking help from a Christian counselor, joining a support group, and avoiding triggers that may lead you to gamble. Remember, God is with you every step of the way, and He wants you to live a life free from addiction.
Be encouraged by the words of Romans 8:37 WEB, "No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." With God's help, you can overcome this addiction. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and trust in His love and grace for you.
If you have not already, consider confessing this sin and repenting. Read 1 John 1:9 WEB, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Finally, we want to remind you of the importance of surrounding yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your journey. As it is written in Hebrews 10:25 WEB, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
