We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your parents, and we want to lift you all up in prayer and provide some biblical guidance.
Firstly, it's important to remember the fifth commandment, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you" (Exodus 20:12 WEB). Even in difficult situations, we are called to honor our parents. However, honoring them does not mean we allow them to control or manipulate us, especially when it is a topic such as inheritance. We believe doing so only creates undue stress, hardship, and animosity. Jesus said, "Leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift" (Matthew 5:24 WEB). We believe this same guideline applies to issues with families. However, when reconciliation seems difficult, remember to "Turn away from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it" (Psalm 34:14 WEB).
This letter will not address any specific inheritance other than the inheritance that comes through Jesus Christ. The letter is also no longer discussing the problem below.
The scriptures say the following in Ephesians 1:11
In him we were also made heirs, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his will;
12 to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ: 1:11
Our hope needs to be in Jesus Christ and not in an earthly inheritance. Adam and Eve disobeyed, and their inheritance was dismissal from the Garden of Eden, not a fortune. We should not be worried about treasure on earth specifically made by man but the one God gave us, and that is the earth. If we disobey God, He will remove us from the plan for an inheritance in the earth, and the only inheritance for an unbeliever is death. We explain this to you to attempt to counsel you and your mother out of this stubborness to force communication. You do not have to accommodate her wishes or strive with her.
It's clear that the situation is taking a toll on your health and well-being. The Bible tells us, "Don't be anxious about anything; but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB). It is good that you are coming to God and Jesus Christ to resolve these issues instead of yourself.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father and our Lord Savior Jesus Christ,
We come before You today, and in Jesus' name we lifting up our sister and her family. Lord, You know the struggles they are facing, the tension, manipulation, and control that is leading you to feel your hard is beating hard and fast. We pray for Your intervention, Father. We ask that You grant wisdom and discernment as to when to communicate and when to withdraw from striving with your mother. Help and guide them to communicate effectively and respectfully, and to resolve their conflict in a way that honors You. And we pray much more, for your mother and yourself, you both truly seek the Kingdom of God. May they seek the inheritance the we Christians have in Christ Jesus and not the inheritance we try to gain on earth or that decays.
Lord, we also pray for healing, both physical and emotional. We ask that You comfort and strengthen them, and if in Jesus Christ name we pray for our sister's inheritance and ask to further her for her sake from those which do not. Help them grow and thrive in these tiny apartments instead of being trapped.
Save them, Guide and deliver them in Jesus Christ Name, for there is no other Name by which we can be saved.
We also pray for soften hearts, may they be tender to each other and to you Jesus. In Jesus name we pray that even if your heart is hardened by the sin that may be entangling you, or for each of your parents and loved ones, the Bible says, 'The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take council together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed,'' saying, ''Let's break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.'' We know that even if you reject Jesus, that is what you are doing, the good news is even if you do, He will have you. ''He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will have them in derision.'' Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath: ''Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.''
You do not know the day of Jesus Christ return, but He is coming with His chosen saints, and You want all to come to repentance knowing Jesus Christ as Lord.
Jesus died on the cross and redeemed all sins and those willing to believe in Him, will be saved. He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".
May our sister and those around live in Jesus Name.
So in hope we pray all be saved, repenting, be baptized, and be covered with the glorious blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
We pray for mercy on each side helping them all as they truly have need.
In the powerful saving and righteous glorious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
In Jesus Christ Name.
Amen
