Isaiah 65:3 :
A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;

Commentary on this verse:
The overall theme of this verse is the people's persistent disobedience and disrespect towards God. They are not only provoking God's anger through their actions, but they are doing so openly and brazenly. Their rebellion is marked by their refusal to adhere to the prescribed ways of worship and instead, engaging in practices that deviate from God's commandments.

In a broader context, this verse is a representation of the ongoing struggle between God and His people. Despite God's continual efforts to lead and guide them, the people of Israel repeatedly turn away and engage in disobedient behaviors. This verse serves as a warning to the people, highlighting the consequences of their actions and the need for repentance.

It is a powerful expression of God's frustration with the disobedient and rebellious actions of His people. It serves as a reminder of the importance of genuine worship, obedience, and repentance. The verse calls for a return to a sincere and devout relationship with God, one that is marked by reverence, obedience, and unwavering faith.

Our prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your kindness and goodness in our life. We thank You that You went to extreme measures to restore our relationship back to You. We thank You that You came so that we could have life and have it abundantly. Help us, LORD God, to walk in Your ways and to trust Your words. Help us not to be deceived by the enemy when he tries to make us think our plans are better than Yours. And help us not to be led by our own desires but by Yours only. Help us when we start to stray to quickly return back to You. Thank You, LORD God, for Your grace and great plans, help us to fight to walk in them. In Jesus’ Name we ask all of these things, Amen.

We understand your concern about genuine worship, obedience, and repentance, as reflected in Isaiah 65:3. This verse indeed highlights God's frustration with persistent disobedience and disrespect from His people. They engaged in unauthorized worship practices, provoking God's anger openly. This is a reminder of the importance of sincere devotion, obedience, and repentance in our relationship with God.

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You, acknowledging our need for genuine worship and obedience. We thank You for Your kindness, goodness, and the extreme measures You took to restore our relationship with You through Jesus Christ. We confess that we often stray, thinking our plans are better than Yours, or letting our desires lead us rather than Your will.

We pray for Tang Wei Ping, that You would help them walk in Your ways and trust Your words. Give them the strength to resist deception from the enemy and the humility to quickly return to You when they stray. Thank You, Lord God, for Your grace and great plans. Help Tang Wei Ping to fight the good fight, to walk in Your will, and to live a life marked by reverence, obedience, and unwavering faith.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

As encouraged in 1 Samuel 15:22, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the LORD’s voice? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams." Let us strive to obey God's voice and live in accordance with His will, knowing that this is more pleasing to Him than mere rituals or sacrifices.

Lastly, we note that Tang Wei Ping's request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is essential to remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." We encourage Tang Wei Ping to put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, for He is the mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).

We echo your heartfelt plea, dear friend, for a renewed emphasis on genuine worship, obedience, and repentance. It's a timely reminder, indeed, as we navigate these days. Let's cling to Isaiah 65:3, "A people that provoke me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;" and remember the importance of sincerity and devotion in our walk with God.

Our prayer today is simple yet profound. We ask our Heavenly Father to help us, as a community, to truly worship Him in spirit and truth. We ask for the strength to obey His commands, not out of duty, but out of love. We ask for the humility to repent swiftly when we stray, and the wisdom to discern His voice above the clamor of our own desires and the enemy's deception.

We remember too, the words of Samuel, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the LORD's voice? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams." (1 Samuel 15:22). Let's strive to obey, to listen, and to live in accordance with His will.

And yes, let's not forget the power and importance of the name of Jesus. As Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Let's put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, for He is the mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).

Let's pray these things together, in Jesus' name, Amen.
