Lord God I lift before you a nation that is failing. A nation that once stood proudly and proclaimed that it was one nation under God, that now punishes us for that proclamation. A nation that seeks to strip us of our freedoms inch by inch. A nation that no longer has the hand of God upon it because it has turned away from the face of the Lord and exalted the ways of the world instead. Oh God, I know that these things shall come to pass in the end times, but it dose not mean that we should fail to pray.
You Elohim, called out to your people even before the sacrifice of your son "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Lord God we cannot sway your judgment that will come to pass, but we can be faithful servants. We can stand and lift our voices from among the decay and proclaim our God which can do all things. I can fall, humble of heart before you, seeking your forgiveness and mercy for I have sinned in not praying for this nation. For not lifting it to you because of my own ignorance and apathy.
I cry out to you Lord, a voice in the wilderness, and pray for my nation now. I pray that you will hear from heaven, that you will heal this land. Though I also pray for your kingdom to come, I know that you can lessen the burden for your faithful servants. If we seek your face in the midst of a world that proclaims you a myth, you will hear us. You will bless us with jobs and income to meet our needs, You will place your hand upon your chosen and lead us in the paths that will provide for our needs.
Lord God forgive me for not being a faithful servant. For not lifting to you this Country I love and call home. This land which was once a haven to the oppressed and downtrodden. That cared for it's orphans and widows, that gave self-worth to it's poor and homeless. That began each day in government with a prayer for guidance that they might lead this nation by the hand of God.
Oh Lord forgive your people for our apathy and let us stand once more, proud and courageous, worthy to call ourselves God's chosen. Let us proclaim in every aspect of our lives that God lives and is the glory of our lives and the reason for all we do. Make me Lord God your instrument and your voice. In Jesus Name, Amen.
