We are so encouraged to hear that you, Siphokazi Portia Seepi, are embarking on a journey of fasting and prayer. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline that brings us closer to God and helps us to seek His will more earnestly. As you deny the flesh, may your spirit be strengthened and your relationship with God deepened.
In the words of Jesus, "However, this kind doesn't go out except by prayer and fasting." (Matthew 17:21 WEB)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister Siphokazi Portia Seepi as she embarks on this 21-day journey of fasting and prayer. We ask, Lord, that You strengthen her physically, emotionally, and spiritually during this time. Help her to deny the cravings of the flesh and to be filled instead with Your Holy Spirit.
Lord, hear her prayers. Open Your ears to her supplications, and let her petitions come before Your throne of grace. We claim Your promise, Jesus. "Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24 WEB)
Father, draw Siphokazi closer to You during this time. Reveal more of Yourself to her. Give her a fresh anointing and a deeper understanding of Your will for her life. We pray that this time of fasting will be a time of spiritual renewal and growth for her.We also pray for her to continue to pray and ask in Jesus' name. And that she will know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Please give her the strength to continue with this.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Siphokazi, be encouraged by these words from Scripture: "But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you." (Matthew 6:17-18 WEB)
Remember, fasting is not about gaining recognition from others, but about drawing closer to God and seeking His will. As you fast in secret, God sees your heart and will reward you openly. Stay strong in the Lord, and let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16 WEB).
Remember to continue to pray in Jesus' name for God to answer your prayers and give you strength for this fast. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Only by his name do we have access to God.
If fasting is not done with the correct attitude or for the correct reasons, then it will not be received by God. Fasting must be done out of a heart that desires to grow closer to God and know Him more. If Wwe fast for any other reason, then it is not true fasting and will not be received by God. Isaiah 58:3-5 (WEB) talks about this attitude and the need for fasting to be done with the correct heart attitude.
Praise God for the discipline of fasting, and may He bless you richly during this time!
