We understand that you are seeking forgiveness for seeing nudity. First, let's address the issue of forgiveness and repentance. The Bible tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). This means that when we come to God with a sincere heart, acknowledging our sins, and seeking forgiveness, He is faithful to forgive us.
However, it's important to address the underlying issue here. The Bible is clear about the dangers of lust and sexual immorality. Jesus said, "But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28 WEB). This means that even looking at someone with lustful intentions is sinful.
We need to rebuke you for looking at nudity. If you are married, this is adultery. If not, this is fornication which is sinful. There is no allowance for this in scripture. It is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10: Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit God’s Kingdom.
If the nudity you are seeing is from a pornographic source or inappropriate media, we strongly advise you to cut off access to such material. Jesus also said, "If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna" (Matthew 5:29 WEB). This means that we should be willing to remove anything from our lives that causes us to sin.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord, we come before You, lifting up this person who has confessed their sin to You. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing as promised in Your Word. Help them to turn away from this sin and to live a life that is pleasing to You. Give them the strength to resist temptation and to walk in purity. We also pray that you convict them of their sin and draw them closer to you. If they do not already know you we pray that they come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word, seeking His will for your life. Remember, "For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm therefore, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage" (Galatians 5:1 WEB). Through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can overcome this temptation and live a life of freedom.
The fact that you did not mention Jesus in your prayer is very concerning. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God. There is also no other name by which we can be saved except through Jesus Christ. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him.
