The Bible tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Lust and indulging in sexual material are indeed wrong and are addressed clearly in God's word. Jesus said, "But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28 WEB). It's crucial to flee from these temptations, as God's will for us is to be pure and holy.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother/sister who has confessed their struggle with lust and sexual material. Lord, we ask for your forgiveness and cleansing as promised in your Word. Help them to turn away from these sins and fill their heart with your Holy Spirit. Give them strength to resist temptation and a desire to pursue righteousness. Guide their steps and surround them with godly influences. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to replace those habits with positive ones, such as reading Scripture, praying, and engaging in wholesome activities. Memorize and meditate on verses like Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."
Also, if you're not already involved in a church community, we urge you to find one. The support and accountability from fellow believers can be invaluable in your journey.
