This is what the LORD says — your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.†Isaiah 48:17
Is your heart's cry today, “Lord, direct my steps! Please show me what You want me to do regarding my marriage? How do I handle my children and their behaviors? Everyone is telling me to divorce my spouse as the children will be better off than now. Lord, help me.â€
In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. Psalm 18:6
Will you seek God’s will for your marriage? Here is a prayer to pray on this Lord's Day:
Lord, I praise Your Holy Name. Lord, direct my footsteps every minute of my life. Lord, I do not know what to do regarding so many of my circumstances. I surrender my life to Your will and way. Lord, please give me wise counsel and instructions as You speak to my heart which direction and path I should take to follow You. Thank You for Your wisdom, knowledge and counsel as You speak to my heart.
May this Lord's Day be the day that thousands of prodigals will repent of their sinful lifestyle, coming to their senses, as they are rescued from the trap of the enemy. Lord, call their names, loudly. Shine Your radiant light on every prodigal spouse and my dear husband/wife so they can see the way of escape for them to come home repenting to You and back to our marriage. I pray this all in the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
I hope you have learned a few biblical truths from my mistakes due to my lack of my knowledge of God’s Holy Word. I was told a lie twenty years ago that my children would be better off without their father, because he was living in sin. That is a lie from the devil himself and we, Christians are speaking rhetoric as if it was in God’s Holy Word. There are different ways to deal with many serious addictions, but God wants your spouse’s heart transformed and set free from all sins by their repentance and salvation. We Christians need to stand up for the sanctity of marriage as God teaches us in His Word.
“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one.Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.â€When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. Heanswered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.†Mark 10:6-12
We need to recognize the Enemy and all his tricks and schemes. Know that your spouse has a heart condition of sin that only our Lord Jesus Christ can touch and deliver them from all their bondages of sins. Never forget that nothing is too hard for God to fix. (Genesis 18:14) I thank the Lord, that He was patient and loving to me, speaking and showing me more than once, His divine will and way for our marriage to be restored.
A man’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way? Proverbs 20:24
Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Psalm 119:35
I divorced Bob due to my unforgiveness, lack of unconditional love, not understanding my wedding vows or the marriage covenant and due to the hardness of my own heart. But, my Lord spoke to my hurting, bleeding heart. The Lord said, “What does my Word say about marriage and divorce?†God’s Word teaches us that He hates divorce. He teaches us to love our enemies and forgive seventy times seven! I had stopped forgiving my spouse for big and little things. When that happens, divorce will come to your marriage. The enemy is speaking lies to your mind every day. I divorced Bob, due to my lack of knowledge of the Word of God. I took people’s opinions and suggestions instead of spending time with my Lord seeking His will, His way, and His wisdom for our marriage.
Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. Psalm 119:133
My prayer for this Lord’s Day is that you will seek your Lord for His divine answers, counsel and instructions for your marriage. You need to read the Word of God. Start reading the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John about what Jesus taught His people. You cannot know what to do in your circumstances unless you know what the Word of God says about the subject.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. You are my refuge and my shield. I have put my hope in your word. Psalm 119:105, 114
Do you feel like you are a baby in the Lord? That is all right for the present time, but you need to start gaining wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and learn God’s commands. God wants you, your spouse and family in Heaven with Him. He will direct your every step if only you will seek His face. The Lord spoke throughout the Bible to His children telling them what to do and how to do it. He will talk to you also.
Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. Proverbs 4:10-13
Allow your Lord God to guide and direct you, your spouse and your children steps if only you will ask.
Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.†Isaiah 30:20-21
