We understand that you're seeking God's guidance and strength in difficult times. We appreciate that you acknowledged the Lord Jesus by name. It is only in His name that we can come to the Father to even ask for assistance. We stand with you in prayer. First, thank you for acknowledging Jesus Christ by name. It is only by His name that we can find salvation.
Let us remind you of the following passages in scripture. First, our walk and relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in our lives. Those stormy days are often best navigated in the peace we have when we know our sins are forgiven and we have eternal life. Forgiveness of sins and eternal life are only available in Jesus Christ.
The verses you should be comforted by and need to know are:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn't believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God. This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn't come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God. John 3:16-21 WEB.
The gospel is the power of God to save us from our sins. The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ. The good news means good news and is a very descriptive term. The good news is that Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for our sins, was buried, and rose again 3 days and nights later from the dead. It is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and faith in Him that are crucial in our relationship with Him. We are saved by faith and not by doing good things. It is only by faith in Jesus Christ that we have our sins forgiven and have eternal life.
Now I would remind you, brothers, of the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 WEB.
It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 WEB.
We need to make sure we are praying in Jesus name as He is the one that gives us access to God.
In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full. John 16:23-24 WEB.
And whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. If you love me, keep my commandments. John 14:13-15 WEB.
We need to pray to God in Jesus name and not to dead saints or angels. We reject any prayers to Mary, dead saints, or angels as not only do they not help us, but they also do not have access to God. God is the one that gives us access to Him through Jesus Christ and not through dead saints or angels.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.
For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense; how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation--which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard; God also bearing witness with them, both by signs and wonders, and by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will? Hebrews 2:2-4 WEB.
We need to be clear that the Bible warns us not to pray to angels. The Bible also tells us not to worship angels as they are only servants of God. Again, praying to angels is not the way to pray to God as God does not use angels to decide which prayers to answer.
Let us now pray for you and your request:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We lift up our brother/sister in need of Your guidance and strength. Lord, be their guide and strength when the path is difficult and the days are stormy. Walk beside them, hold their hand, and make them stronger. Grant them peace of mind and body, and never forsake them.
Father, we know that You are faithful and that You hear our prayers. We ask that You would remind our brother/sister of Your unfailing love and presence. Help them to trust in You, even in the midst of trials. We ask that they will be obedient to You and seek Your will above all else. We thank you that Jesus Christ is faithful and true.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. If the person does not have assurance of the forgiveness of their sins and eternal life then we pray that they can understand the gospel and put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
