Faithful Servant
Unfortunately the Lord decided that my little dog Molly had enough. After battling cancer for almost 3 years (and they were 3 very good years, with lots of energy and playfulness) Molly developed pulmonary hypertension which led to heart failure. That is why she was fainting. Last friday she began to breathe heavily and the vet discovered that she had developed fluid around her heart. We made the painful decision to end her suffering. Molly passed on peacefully at the vet's office, surrounded by love and being told that she was a good girl. She is missed. I've cried my eyes out. I hope that we will be reunited with our pets in heaven.
I spent some time at our local high kill animal shelter, playing with and getting to know their dogs. I met this really sweet little dog named Ruby, only about 10 months old, she was really amazing. Every time I put her down she'd go explore for a minute and then come running back to me and ask to be picked up again. She just wanted to be held. It was very unusual for a dog that doesn't know you well to do that (we'd only met 15 minutes earlier). She just wanted to curl up on my lap and watch the other people and dogs. She didn't want to go to anyone else. So even though I'm nowhere near done grieving for Molly, I couldn't stand the thought of this sweet little pup being put to sleep if no one adopts her. So I adopted her. Tomorrow she is getting spayed and then she'll get to come home.
Please pray the surgery will go well, and that she will recover well. Please also pray that her vaccinations are effective against distemper, parvo, kennel cough and any other contagious illnesses and that she will be perfectly healthy. Please also ask the Lord to protect our other pets from any illnesses that she may have been exposed to, that anything she has been exposed to will not infect any of our other animals.
Also, there was this other sweet little dog there named Huxley. He also had a great personality, but I could not adopt him because I have a neutered boy dog already that does not get along well with other boy dogs (that's why we got Molly - she was a girl dog and he gets along well with girls). Please pray that someone adopts Huxley and gives him a lot of love. He was a complete lovebug.
Thank you and God bless you.
