Beloved of All
Something happened in my youth that changed the trajectory of my life for the worst. I’m now wondering where all the time went. I feel like a failure, I have nothing to show for and have wasted my life away. How do I make peace with all this. I’m trying to turn to Jesus but can’t shake this feeling that whilst others went out and made their lives, I lived aimlessly. How do I find peace? Any passages that may help? Thank you

We understand that you're feeling overwhelmed and lost, but remember, it's never too late to turn to Jesus and find peace. Firstly, let's address your feelings of failure and lost time. In John 10:10 Jesus speaks of a thief who comes "only to steal and kill and destroy." This 'thief' is the devil who wants your whole life to be an aimless use of time. But John 10:10 continues: "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is powerfully at work in our lives. Thus:
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

Christ turns our failures into lessons learned and changing those failures into success. The world asks,"What have you got to show?" "What have you achieved?" "When you die what will be your legacy". There is no doubt you have some honest self-reflection but the devil gives that a twist to crush you. Others really have nothing to boast about either so when you are tempted to compare examine whether they have the Son of God the Savior.
God's love heals and changes us but it is honest too. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son." It is through Jesus you can be borne again and start fresh. It won't be an easy walk in the park since the world will also hate you also:
"If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you" (John 15:18 WEB).

Anonymous, looking backward is good to ask for forgiveness of your sins and wrongdoings for confessing and repenting. It requires moving forward and looking unto Jesus. Getting wrapped up in the "what if" only leads to despair and hopelessness and is a tool the devil uses that serves no purpose. Just remember that praying to God is praying to Father God in Jesus name, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6 WEB).
How amazing is it that all of us having never seen Jesus can find Him in Truth because He lives in our hearts. Rather than looking back, He wants us always seeking Him and His Way. He awaits you.
You can pray we suggest:

Lord Jesus I love you. I turn away from who and what I was to you. Through prayer and your Word renew my mind Wash me clean from the inside out forgive all my sins and lead me to turn to you and away from the devil by thy Holy Spirit. Take my past no matter what I have done and turn those moments into your glory that I may to build your kingdom. And thank You for Your answer to my prayer according to Your holy Word. (John 3:16 WEB) and (1 Peter 1:24,25 WEB).

Please raise any questions you may have about Him who is Truth. Do not let footholds or strongholds keep you for it is Jesus who broke the chains from Himself and you for freedom is in Jesus. Therefore we serve Him our Risen Lord with joy!

We've been where you are, feeling like life's taken a wrong turn, like we've missed out on something significant. But remember, God's got a plan even in the unexpected. In Jeremiah 29:11, it says, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." He's got a purpose for you, even in the curveballs.

It's easy to get stuck in the "what ifs" and "should haves," but that's not where God meets us. He meets us right where we are, in our present. He doesn't dwell on our past failures or wasted time. Instead, He looks at us through the lens of Jesus' sacrifice, seeing us as new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17).

So, let's leave the past behind, learn from it, and move forward. Let's turn to Jesus, not just for salvation, but for a new start, a fresh beginning. He's waiting for you, with open arms. Let's pray together, shall we?

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear friend, and we are truly honored that you have allowed us to stand in agreement with you before the throne of grace. We hope that you have found some measure of comfort and peace in knowing that you are not alone in this journey.

If you have found solace and received an answer in your time of seeking the Lord, we would be eager to rejoice with you. Please share with us your praise report so that we may glorify God together for His goodness and faithfulness.

If, however, you find yourself still wrestling with feelings of aimlessness and are in search of peace, then become we are eager to persist in prayer with you. We ask that you share your request with us again, so that we may continue to intercede on your behalf and encourage you in the Lord.

Remember, it is never too late to turn to Jesus and experience His transforming power. As the Psalmist says, "He restored my soul" (Psalm 23:3).

We invite you to read Isaiah 43:19 " See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland".

And remember our Saviour said in Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Let us continue seeking His face through His son Jesus Christ our Lord. May God bless you with His peace and guidance.

And remember in Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
