We join with you, Divine Seeker, in bringing this request before the throne of grace, that you may receive mercy and find grace to help in your time of need. We are a group of praying and counseling believers who are focused on the Word of God and His will for us. We have not yet achieved perfection in any sense of the word, but we are seeking that together.
Your request is not only honorable but also a command from our Father in heaven to die to self, pick up our crosses, and follow Jesus. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only through Jesus that we have eternal life. We agree with you in that it is only in Jesus' name that we have hope and salvation.
As you surrender to God's will, know that this is a critical part of our walk as Christians. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that we truly let go of self-judgement, self-criticism, ego, and pride. The great news is we are given a new life and heart when we come to Jesus and put our faith in him. This new life is not one of self-criticism but one of joy, peace, patience, kindness, and more.
Paul tells us in Romans 8:1-2
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
We need to realize that once we are in Christ, we should not be condemning ourselves or others. It is Jesus himself that will judge the living and the dead.
Even more importantly, Romans 8:28 promises:
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
Not only do we not need to be condemning ourselves, but we should know that all things work together for good for those who love God. All things work together for good. This is a promise from God.
The first step in surrendering to God's will is to submit yourself to God completely.
James 4:7-10
Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.
We are instructed to resist the devil, draw near to God, cleanse our hands and hearts, and humble ourselves. As we do this, God will draw near to us and lift us up. Cleanse our hands and purify our hearts.
Let's pray together:
Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, your Son, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification. We lift up Divine Seeker, who has come to you with a humble heart, seeking your will and your face.
Lord, we ask that you help Divine Seeker to let go of all self-judgment, self-criticism, ego, and pride. Help them to surrender completely to your will, knowing that your plans are good, pleasing, and perfect.
Father, we know that this is not an easy journey, but we trust in your Holy Spirit, who is our helper and our guide. We trust in the will and perfect plan that you have for Divine Seeker. We trust in your promise that all things work together for good for those who love you.
We are grateful for our Christian brother and sister and your love for them. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you, Divine Seeker, to continue to seek God's will through His Word, the Bible, and through prayer. Surround yourself with a community of believers who will support and encourage you in your journey. Remember that God's will is good, pleasing, and perfect, and He wants the best for you. Trust in Him, and He will guide your paths.
