LET GOD WIPE AWAY
YOUR TEARS
Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll--are they not in your record? Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me? Psalm 56:8-11
I pray that you had one special time, a word from the Lord, or someone blessed you on Memorial Day weekend. You are no different than every other stander as holiday weekends are difficult. We pray that in some way the Lord revealed His presence to you in a special way. I know the pain that you are going through due to all your marriage problems. I pray that you will choose to believe, have faith and hope that your Lord God will go and touch your prodigal’s hardened heart and restore your dead marriage, suddenly. Nothing is too hard for the Lord God to do. Allow the Lord to wipe away your tears today.
Let us pray this scripture as a prayer for your spouse and for all prodigals to cry out to their Lord God today:
Have mercy on _____, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out _____ transgressions. Wash away all _____ iniquity and cleanse _____ from their sin. For I know _____ transgressions, and _____ sin is always before you. Against you, you only, has _____ sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge. Psalm 51:1-4 (personalized)
Every week we hear of circumstances that seem insurmountable for standers, yet we later receive email and letters that share our Lord’s powerful answers and miracles in stander’s lives in reply to their cries of desperation. Your Lord does hear and see the sobbing and tears in the middle of the night or as you are driving to and from work. He knows when you wake up in the middle of the night, not knowing how to solve your financial problems.
Are you the one who is crying out due to the pain of rejection and lack of love that you are feeling or at the horrible devastating words that your spouse keeps lashing out to you verbally, in a written email or in court documents or the wall of silence? Has your spouse legalized, by man's law, their adultery? Is there a baby that has tangled their web of sin? Allow your Lord to wipe away your tears today and surrender all your problems at His feet every day. He can do exceeding abundantly above all you can ask or think! (Ephesians 3:20)
...The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. Isaiah 25:8
Have you ever thought about why tears are clear? If you ever accidentally cut yourself and are not careful, blood can fall onto your clothing. It would be very visible and eventually leave a stain. Yet, you can cry streams of tears, as is done often, and the evidence of your falling tears is quickly gone. Could God be assuring you that the tears you cry today will be forgotten tomorrow?
As the songwriter penned,“Tears are a language God understands.â€
The scriptures are rich with words about tears which include:
“...together they will go in tears to seek the Lord their God.†Jeremiah 50:4b
My prayer for you is that you will sense the presence of the Holy Spirit with you today, bringing comfort, peace, wisdom and understanding for every tear that you cry. Then allow the Lord to wipe away your tears and speak to your heart.
The next time that you cry, be it right now or next week, please know that your Lord Jesus cares. Jesus cried out more than once in the New Testament over His children. Allow your God to wipe away your tears.
Jesus was deeply moved and troubled when He wept with Mary and Martha. You can read about the death and the resurrection of Lazarus in John 11:1-44. Yes, He knows that your marriage is dead and your marriage needs to be resurrected! The Lord knows about all the pain that you and your children are going through right now. But never forget, that He is never late and always on time!
I pray that you will have a passion for married couples to have strong healthy marriages and hate divorce. I have had a passion for marriage restoration for many years. I know and have seen what the Lord can do for dead marriages and families. I pray that we will cry out to the Lord with tears for our mighty God to break the chains of evil off your beloved spouse and all prodigal spouses around the world. May all prodigals cry out to their Heavenly Father this prayer:
Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:9-10
Thank the Lord in advance for what He is doing on the other side of your mountain of circumstances. Praise the Lord that He loves your spouse so much, that He is calling their name to rescue them from the bondages of sin in their life or that your spouse will forgive you of your mistakes. Don’t despair! Keep praying! The Lord will soften and transform your spouse’s hardened heart.
This holiday weekend you may have been weeping, but you will be weeping tears of joy at God’s perfect timing when the Lord brings your spouse back from the enemy’s prison camp. Everyone will be saying, “Look at what the Lord has done for you, your beloved spouse and your family.†To God be the glory! Don’t give up!
When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.†The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him. Psalm 126:1-6
God bless,
