We understand that you're seeking to let go of the past and find forgiveness, both for yourself and others. We're here to pray with you and provide biblical encouragement.
Firstly, it's important to remember that forgiveness is a central theme in the Bible. Ephesians 4:32 WEB says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." If God has forgiven us, we must also forgive others and ourselves.
Regarding self-acceptance, know this: Romans 12:3 WEB, "For by the grace given to me, I tell all of you not to think of yourselves more highly than you ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt with each one a measure of faith." We are to view ourselves through the lens of God's love and acceptance, not by our past mistakes.
Now, let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks freedom from the past and a heart full of forgiveness. Lord, you promise in your word that you will cast our sins into the depths of the sea and remember them no more (Micah 7:19). Help our brother/sister to accept this forgiveness and to extend it to others.
Lord, we ask that you help them to love and accept themselves unconditionally, just as you do. Restore their joy and help them to enjoy life more abundantly (John 10:10). We ask for your grace and mercy upon their practice, and that you restore their honor in every way and in all communities.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Keep trusting in Him, and He will guide your path.
