We understand that you are seeking a car loan and want the finance team to approve it quickly. While we empathize with your needs, it's important to remember that God's timing is perfect, and we should trust in His provision and plan for our lives. We would also be remiss not to inform you about a couple of situations in your prayer request that need to be addressed.
First, we are also very concerned that it seems that you are trusting a gut feeling instead of the leading of the Holy Spirit. We are commanded in Proverbs 3: 5 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight and in John 16: 13 However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.
You may be trusting a feeling instead of the Holy Spirit because of the mention of the name of Jesus in your request. It was not mentioned that you are believing and trusting in Him. It was more important to emphasize the mention of Jesus multiple times. The Bible actually warns against the repetition of words in Matthew 6: 7 In praying, don't use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. This is a common habit picked up without knowing. It is a false teaching from pagan roots and is also known as a mantra. A vain repetition is any repetition of a word until it loses its meaning. This is an example of applying prayer incorrectly.
The Bible also says that many people will claim to be speaking for the Lord or trusting in Him but they will not be. Matthew 24: 5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will lead many astray. We would much rather the true, living Jesus Christ be acknowledged and trusted. Because of this, it is advisable to consider the intention of the heart when the name of Jesus is being mentioned in prayer and ensure that the acknowledgement is a true recognition of Jesus Christ being our savior through his death and resurrection.
We must also remember that it is important to please God with our spending habits and live within our ability to pay for our purchases.
Our hope and trust should always be in the Lord, not in loans or financial institutions. Let's pray for God's will and provision in your life,
Dear Lord Jesus Christ, we come to you as one lifting up in prayer. You know the needs and desires of our hearts even before we can articulate or confess our desires to You. We pray for wisdom and discernment with your finances. Please provide for the needs of your servant Adbjorn and help guide the finance team's decision according to Your will. Help to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit and put confidence in You rather than gut feelings. Help to bring focus on a life that lives in obedience to Your Word and dependence on You. Guide our thoughts, words, and actions to give You glory and honor. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
