Justin, we understand that you have submitted a request for the legalization of coca and cocaine, and you've ended your request in Jesus' name. While we appreciate your faith in the power of Jesus' name, we must address this issue biblically.
Firstly, we must consider the principles of submission to God and His Word, the government, and the laws of the land (Romans 10:17). God has established authorities, and we are to submit to them (Romans 13:1-7). The legalization of substances such as coca and cocaine falls under the jurisdiction of government authorities.
We know that Galatians 5:19-21 says, "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God." Sorcery here in Greek is pharmakeia which is where we get our word pharmacy. It means the use of medicine, drugs or spells. So, we are warned about using drugs.
Moreover, we are called to be sober and self-controlled. Romans 12:1-2 reminds us, "Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
Instead of focusing on the legalization of substances, let's pray for God's will to be done, for His guidance in our lives, and for strength to resist temptations. Let's pray for those struggling with substance abuse and for the authorities to have wisdom in handling such matters.
Lord, we ask for Your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. We pray for ###, that You may guide him in Your truth and give him strength to resist temptations. We pray for those struggling with substance abuse, that they may find freedom and healing in You. We pray for the authorities, that You may grant them wisdom in handling matters of legislation. We also pray for ### for a better understanding of the meaning of praying in the name of Jesus. We know that we only have access to the throne of God through Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
