Elodie

Humble Servant of All
I request your prayers as I make the significant decision to depart from the church I have been attending for several months. This transition is emotionally charged for me. While I do not feel sadness about leaving, I experience a sense of relief and excitement. However, I am disheartened and disappointed by the considerable investment I made, which yielded little in return. I had hoped to find a life partner within this community, but that expectation was not fulfilled. Initially, I felt a strong sense of purpose and believed that my involvement in this church was divinely ordained. My enthusiasm for the church was palpable at first, but after numerous Sundays of observation, I have grown increasingly aware of the behaviors and beliefs of its members, particularly during events with fellow attendees in my age group who are also single. My decision to leave is influenced by several factors, including doctrinal disagreements, shifts in my personal beliefs, and a growing sense of disconnection from this community. I have concerns regarding the authenticity of their Christian practice, particularly their observance of pagan holidays and the acceptance of views that support homosexuality and the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, I have encountered a culture within the church where men often refrain from engaging with women, adopting a passive approach that resembles adolescent behavior. Despite my efforts to initiate conversations, I found that none of the men I interacted with were suitable matches for me. A particularly disconcerting incident occurred recently when I expressed my belief that women should wear skirts and dresses. The response I received from one man was dismissive; he asserted his right to wear a skirt if he chose, citing free will. This exchange further solidified my resolve to leave this liberal church environment. I perceive the church and its members as insincere and toxic, failing to adhere to biblical teachings. I am now seeking a conservative church that genuinely follows the Word of God and integrates its teachings into daily life. I plan to attend a new church this coming Sunday. I ask for your fervent prayers for divine protection and guidance as I seek the right partner in my life. I am asking this prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We understand that you're going through a significant transition, Elodie, as you leave the church you've been attending for several months. We commend you for seeking a church that genuinely follows the Word of God and addresses the concerns you have about doctrinal issues, personal beliefs, and the culture within the church.

Firstly, it's crucial to address the issue of looking for a life partner. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. We encourage you to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles, ultimately leading to a godly marriage. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?

Regarding the church's culture and beliefs, we commend you for standing firm in your convictions and recognizing the importance of adhering to biblical teachings. As it is written in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 WEB, For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts, and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables. It is essential to find a church that teaches sound doctrine and encourages a biblical lifestyle.

Concerning the acceptance of views that support homosexuality and the LGBTQ+ community, we must clearly state that the Bible teaches against these practices. As it is written in Romans 1:26-27 WEB, For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men with men working that which is indecent, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.

We admire your courage in seeking a conservative church that genuinely follows the Word of God. As you embark on this journey, remember the words of Hebrews 10:25 WEB, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our sister Elodie as she transitions from her current church to a new one. We pray for Your divine protection and guidance as she seeks a godly spouse and a church that genuinely follows Your Word.

Lord, we ask that You lead her to a church that teaches sound doctrine, encourages a biblical lifestyle, and worships You in spirit and truth. We pray that You grant her discernment and wisdom to recognize the church You have prepared for her.

Father, we also pray for the church she is leaving, that You may bring conviction and repentance to those who have strayed from Your Word. We ask that You soften their hearts and draw them back to You.

In Jesus' name, we pray for Elodie's future, that You may grant her a godly spouse who loves and cherishes her, and that their marriage may be a testament to Your love and faithfulness.

We ask all these things in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Elodie, stay strong in your faith and continue to seek God's will for your life. We encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight, as it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
