God's Word playing playing out through the book of Jeremiah.
Though some inaccurately label it vexation in a demonic sense; indeed, Jeremiah's complaint to the Lord sounds very familiar to my situation. Oftentimes, I just start talking, even blurting out the message:
Jeremiah 20:8-9 Whenever I speak, I have to cry out and shout, βViolence! Destruction!β Lord, I am ridiculed and scorned all the time because I proclaim your message. But when I say, βI will forget the Lord and no longer speak in his name,β then your message is like a fire burning deep within me. I try my best to hold it in, but can no longer keep it back.
What is the message from God that's like fire, shut up in Jeremiah's bones? A CITY'S DESTRUCTION
Not only have I been bearing witness to the manifestation of this Word; but, I have quite literally been made the target of it.
Jeremiah 18:18 Then the people said, "Come on, let's find a way to stop Jeremiah. We have our own priests and wise men and prophets. We don't need him to teach the law and give us advice and prophecies. Let's spread rumors about him and ignore what he says."
Most fathers' desire is that their children be just like them. The devil is no different; he wants us to reflect his image in every way, and he uses idols (no-gods) to peddle his wicked schemes to his minions (Godβs haters). The enemy (primarily online idols) has this city doing all sorts of superstitious rituals: going to and fro, tracing my footsteps, walking back and forth, seeking to devour me for sporting events, section 8, and whatever else they can get their unauthorized hands on. Who does that sound like?
Job 1:7 And the Lord said to Satan, βFrom where do you come?β So Satan answered the Lord and said, βFrom going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.β
Unfortunately those idols failed to understand that because I had already devoured the Word of God, neither they nor anyone or anything else can deter me. WHATEVER YOU SAY LORD, I'M YIELDED.
Jesus' instructions, given through His disciples, are polar opposite of satan's; He simply says, "Sit Down"
Just because God sits by while a city does evil, even when it brings forth fruit: Adam and Eve (divine sight); Pharoah (free labor); David and Bathsheba (a son), doesnβt mean that He approves of the evil. There is always sorrow and loss added to wrongdoing. As with many other instances throughout the Bible, God's retribution in these three scenarios included exile. But, even in these scenarios, did the overriding message of repentance prevail. The only one restored to the land was King David. King David not only listened to God's messenger, he had sense enough to humble himself in repentance; through whence comes much the Psalms.
Your problem isn't me Houston, it's you. Notice that when God got ready to punish, He didn't ask "Adam, where is Eve?" He said, "Adam, where are you?" I'm carying out the instructions given to me. Houston, where are you? Sadly, for this city, you're playing your part exactly as scipted.
Though it appears on the surface that this city has been coming against me; and from her perspective, she has: Not So. She has absolutely set herself against the Almighty, All-powerful, God Himself.
Acts 5:38-39 "So my advice is, leave these men alone. If they are teaching and doing these things merely on their own, it will soon be overthrown. But if it is of God, you will not be able to stop them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God."
The traversing of the cities isnβt to test the servant, it's to test the cities, beginning at whatever church in the city God chooses (judgment must begin at the House of Lord). It's never about the servant, nor are you to come against the servant. The disrespect levied against Jesus' servants reaches the heavens:
Romans 15:3 For even Christ didn't please himself. As the Scriptures say, "Those who insult you are also insulting me."
This part of my ministry was never about the colors I wore; but rather, about the bag I bore. The bag which God caused this city to prevent me from setting down for an extended period, for His purpose. (Ezekiel 12)
