Disciple of Prayer
My name is Mapfumo Peter Gava. Prior to 2016 I have never in my life been into politics. My wife was, both in politics and church leadership at cell level. When she went out to the USA to visit the family there she came across the United Democratic Front of Zimbabwe personnel who persuaded her to leave her current political party and join them. As a diaspora party both President and vice were based outside country. Since she was also temporarily away they then phoned me to become like organiser. As the party was being accepted I was quickly moved to District, Provincial and national levels. In a short time I became the Secretary General for the Party.
I had so much difficulty looking after the provinces without the Presidium showing up. Three months before the 2018 Zimbabwean General Election Our party NEC then called for a meeting to discuss on the future. This culminated in the Diaspora leadership being expelled from the party in absentia. I was then elected as the new President of the Party together with a new vice president. I was then entrusted with a task to restructure the party, get ready and campaign for elections in 3 months. I had to be fired from my job as they did not want a politician working for them, I had no funds nor equipment to properly campaign and had to end up selling my own livestock to pay for my nomination court and for my MRS that were contesting. I was among many who lost the election, thank god I got my job back but the number of followers who voted me although so small but is significant enough for me to continue. It shows that through the eyes of the Lord I do exist. In such a short time they saw me.
I am not a very educated man and may never become the President of Zimbabwe at all, but I sit down and wonder why such a new field of life came my way. Campaigning without any resources, on the background having a daughter serving a 25 year jail term and a lost job.
I kindly ask for prayers, to say I do accept the call of the Lord for any anointed leadership from above. I pray for leadership at any level, that is for the people and nation that also has some blessing from Jesus. Thank you for a prayer which really releases me to be who exactly I should be in the eyes of the Lord and his people of my country Zimbabwe. As I do ask for this prayer I also wish to pray for the incumbent and all leadership in his ranks because although I am of a different idea and opposition political party I know leadership is chosen by the almighty, and that he should continue to give them the might, wisdom and ability to lead his people.
I pray for my country to get out of te economic wars and the pangs of hunger, and that no corruption shall continue to be a torment to society, and that love and prosperity shall prevail and that all our people shall unite without creed nor color, for our god does not know tribe or race.
