Beloved of All
Father, you know “government is not a terror to those who do what is right” (Rom 13). We often hear prejudice is wrong, and we agree that judging all of a people group for the actions of a few people is evil. I ask that the majority of those who do right would not be punished for the sake of the few. That is discrimination, and we resist discrimination of every people group, including those who put their lives on the line daily for the benefit of a peaceful society.
I ask You draw many from law enforcement to Jesus, let them hear the gospel, which is the power of God for salvation to all who believe (Rom 1). Encourage them for they are needed, and will be needed more in days to come rather than less.I ask that those who do not feel the job is worth it would be granted pay raises, for they have not had the luxury to “shelter in place.” Change the hearts of those that do need to change, and give government true wisdom and discernment in how to implement accountability on a greater, widespread scale. Save many, may we give honor to whom honor is due, in Jesus’ Name.
“Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.”
