In this time of both sorrow and fellowship, we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's comfort and guidance as you meet with your friends after your brother's funeral. We are grateful for friends who support and uplift us in times of need, and we trust that God will use this gathering for His purposes.
Let us remember the words of Paul to the Romans, Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Let us give thanks for the support of friends, as Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up, and as Proverbs 17:17 tells us A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
We pray for you and your friends together.
Dear Lord,
We lift up this gathering to You, knowing that You are present whenever two or three are gathered in Your name. We pray for comfort, for healing, and for fellowship that draws us closer to You and to each other. We ask that You would fill this time with Your love, Your peace, and Your wisdom. Help us to encourage and build each other up, and to honor the memory of the brother who has passed away. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
As you prepare to meet your friends, we also encourage you to trust that God will be with you and that you will feel the comfort of His presence.
