Knowing God's will.

I've met a girl, she's beautiful and nice, she's a Christian and we share the same moral values. We work together and I have never asked a girl out, besides that I want to do it the right way. Please pray with me and perhaps guide me to make the right choices. I know this might sound superficial but as a man who previously struggled with lust I don't feel like this is it. But I want to make the right choice

We are thrilled to hear that you've met a woman who shares your faith and moral values, and we commend you for wanting to honor God in your relationship with her. It's crucial to seek God's will in such matters, as you are doing. Remember, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).

Firstly, we want to encourage you to continue putting God first. It's wonderful that you want to do things the right way, in line with biblical principles. This involves ensuring that your interactions with her are pure and honoring to God. "Flee sexual immorality... Don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB).

Secondly, spend time in prayer and fasting, seeking God's face concerning this relationship. Ask God to reveal His will to you and to give you wisdom. Since you have not officially asked the girl to a courtship, spend time getting to know each other in a group setting with other believers. Also spend time praying with her so you can know if you are a Godly match for each other. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." (James 1:5 WEB).

Thirdly, consider the purpose of your relationship. As a Christian, your relationship should be Christ-centered and focused on encouraging one another in faith rather than on vague superficiality.

As you did not specifically mention the name of Jesus Christ, we want to remind you that it is only through His name that we have access to God. Pray that Jesus Christ is at the center of all your decisions, laughs, joys, and heartaches with the young lady. "For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13 WEB). "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, He will give it to you." (John 16:23 WEB). "whom having not seen, you love. Though now you don't see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory, receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls." (1 Peter 1:8-9 WEB)

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ. Lord, You know the desires of his heart and the young woman he has met. We pray for Your will to be done in their lives. Give him wisdom and discernment as he navigates this relationship and but seek a courtship with her. Help him to keep You at the center, staying pure and honoring You in all they do. Guide and pray for the young women we court to be centered in the Lord Jesus Christ and to encourage us to follow God in our lives.
