We are with you in this journey and will address some important things in addition to your request to be closer to God. Firstly, it's commendable that you came before the Lord with honesty you basically saying, I'm here as I am and need your help. We are reminded of the tax collector in the parable who, unlike the Pharisee, humbled himself before God and asked for mercy. Jesus said, "I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted" (Luke 18:14 WEB). This should encourage all of us also to honestly come before Jesus and share our needs.
Actually, we all need to look at what our sin is that we are needing to repent of and do so as needed. You did so and that is great. We are told, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). We should also be ready to forgive others. For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB).
It's encouraging to see that you ended your prayer "In Jesus' name." This is vital, for it is only through Jesus that we can approach God. As it says, for "There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB).
In your request, you beautifully acknowledge Jesus' names that being Lord, and King. Also, Jesus is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) and no one can approach God without Jesus. If anyone is reading this and is unsure if Jesus is Lord and Savior of their life, or still needs to invite Jesus into their heart, make their declaration of faith in Jesus to inherit eternal life, please do so. For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit (1 Peter 3:18 WEB).
Regarding the resurrection power you mentioned in your request, this is saying we have resurrection power and everything needed for walking through this Christian life here on earth. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but one to have power, love, and a mindful spirit (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We are co-heirs together and have resurrection power available for every part of our life. We have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer us who live, but Christ who lives in us. And the life which we now live in the flesh we live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave himself for us (Galatians 2:20 WEB).
Resurrection power is available to us to overcome sin, overcome, life struggles, death, and be raised imperishable. As it says, but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work, knowing that your labor is not vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:57-58 WEB). And if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you (Romans 8:11 WEB).
Bear in mind that as Christians we have a responsibility; to keep our faith and never let anything hinder that relationship. Ephesians 6.16 tells us that in addition to all our armor, taking the shield of faith, with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And to take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:17-18 WEB).
Thus let us pray:
Almighty God, we come before you with thanksgiving for you are faithful even when our faith wavers. Lord you know us by name and we have a permanent residence in your heart. We call you Holy and Just and Righteous. Help us to live in a way to honor and glorify you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Lord strengthen Wilann in their confession of our Savior Jesus and in forsaking all sin, as necessary. Lord, forgive us all of our sins and enable us to forgive anyone who has sinned against us. Continue to reveal yourself to Wilann and every one of us as we live each day allowing our faith to be stronger and unbroken, in Jesus' name.
Father we know that you calls us to a long walk of faith and beauty even when we do not seem to see a way out. Continue to help Wilann to see a victory through their Lord Jesus Christ. Giving all the glory to God.
Enable all of us to know we have resurrection power and all is available through Jesus and apply that power in our walk every day.
Give Wilann joy blessedness, relief, comfort, hope and provision in the coming day and every day. Since you are aware of what needs to be done. You are able, Lord, and we depend on you for all.
We can testify we know that you raise us from death to life. You made us sit in heavenly places carrying our infirmities and sorrows and you have given us victory in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. Amen.
