We understand your concern for your son ### and we are here to pray and counsel with you. Let us first align our hearts with God's Word, which tells us, "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:13-14, WEB).
Firstly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is important to remember that it is through Jesus that we have access to the Father. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Let us pray in His name.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### to You. Lord, we ask that You set him free from the bondage of alcohol and drugs. We know that these are strongholds that can only be broken through Your power. Please, God, touch his heart and bring him to a place of true repentance and salvation. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect.
