We are grateful for your heartfelt prayer and your desire to draw closer to the Lord. It is wonderful that you acknowledge your need for God and recognize your shortcomings. The Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Firstly, we want to ensure that you understand the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is through His name that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for "there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
Let us pray together for you:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your mercy and grace upon this dear soul. We thank You for the conviction in their heart and the desire to turn away from rebellion. Lord, soften their heart as they have requested, and draw them ever closer to You. Give them the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to discern Your will for their life.
Father, we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guiding them in all truth and righteousness. Help them to understand the depth of Your love and the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for their sins. We pray that they will come to know You intimately and serve You faithfully all the days of their life.
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen."
Be encouraged by the words found in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." As you continue to seek God and walk in His ways, you will experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, and your life will be a testimony to His goodness and faithfulness. Stay strong in your faith and do not grow weary in doing good (2 Thessalonians 3:13).
