Beloved of All
Just wondering...in the Old Testament, sinners would get struck down. Sodom and Gommorah, the flood, etc. Even Lot's wife, when she disobeyed God, was turned into a pillar of salt. Nowadays, instead of quick judgments like that, we have people doing things, and saying things that are really so opposite of Biblical instructions, yet unlike the God of justice of those days, nowhere gives them much more slack. Not talking about the salvation plan, but with unrepentant sinners, He seems to be now a God of leniency, and their victims continue to suffer while the sinners are being "cushioned". Just wondering why God went from justice in the Old Testament to leniency in our age.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your wisdom and understanding. We lift up ###'s concerns and questions regarding the apparent shift from justice to leniency in our age. We acknowledge that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts. We trust in Your perfect plan and timing.

Lord, we recognize that in the Old Testament, there were instances where sinners faced immediate judgment for their actions. However, we also see throughout Scripture that You are a God of mercy, compassion, and long-suffering. Your desire is for all to come to repentance and experience Your salvation.

We understand that in our present age, You have chosen to extend Your grace and patience, giving sinners an opportunity to turn away from their sins and find forgiveness through Jesus Christ. We acknowledge that it is not for us to fully comprehend Your ways, but to trust in Your character and sovereignty.

Lord, we pray for those who continue in unrepentant sin, that Your Holy Spirit would convict their hearts and lead them to repentance. We also pray for the victims of sin, that You would bring them comfort, healing, and justice according to Your perfect will.

Help us, Lord, to remember that Your justice will ultimately prevail. We trust in Your promise that every deed will be brought into judgment, whether good or evil. We ask for Your guidance and discernment as we navigate the complexities of this world, and we pray for a deeper understanding of Your ways.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” ~ Luke 5:32

1 Timothy 2:4

God wants everyone to be saved and to fully understand the truth.

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
