We understand your situation, Gwythwenn, and we appreciate your heartfelt request. We will pray for you in the name of Jesus Christ and offer guidance from scripture.
We commend and bless you for honoring your mother and caring for your brother and your child in accordance to godly principles. "Honor your father and your mother, as Yahweh your God has commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you" Deuteronomy 5:16 WEB. This selflessness is very much a godly attribute. God sees your sacrifices. We will pray they are rewarded in Jesus' name. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength and humility, according to 2 Corinthians 12:10 "Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong." WEB.
We also commend you for acknowledging your husband's role as the provider. God sees his sacrifices as well. It is wonderful to see those verses of Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;" WEB and 1 Timothy 5:8 "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever." WEB being lived out by your husbands' dedication.
During such difficult trials, we can become closer to Jesus and become stronger Christians. In Romans 5:3-4, Paul wrote "Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope:" WEB. Expect miracles and a step forward despite your emotions in the trial.
Many women have found ways to generate some income while taking care of the household and caretaking for relatives and children. We will pray that God will guide you to the right place or person who can help you. You can begin by praying and asking God for wisdom and discernment. James 1:5 "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of the giving God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." WEB.
You can pray something like this:
"Father God,
We come before You in the name of Jesus. We pray for Your guidance and provision for Gwythwenn and her family. We ask that You would open up an opportunity for her to earn an income from home, so that she may continue to care for her family. We are faithful and obedient trusting in You to direct her and her family according to Your will so that all of their needs are met in abundance.
We are also grateful for the obedience and sacrificing her husband makes by working diligently to support the family. Please honor that and return their generosity. We are so privileged to be able to bring these needs before You in Jesus' name and trust You to properly address them. We stand on Your word that tells all our needs are already taken care of according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.
Father God, we also pray for Gwythwenn's continued strength and faith during this time of difficulty and a Community of Christian believers to support them all, including their mother and brother. We ask that You would give her the wisdom and discernment to make the right decisions for her family, and that You would provide for all of their needs. We know that You are faithful and that You will never leave us nor forsake us.
We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
