Jury Duty

I received another Summons for Jury duty again on Jan 6th. I'm stressed out about it and I reported for jury duty back on Dec 3rd. I'm praying that I won't needed anymore and there won't for need to serve. Thank you.

We understand that you are feeling stressed about receiving another summons for jury duty, especially since you have already served recently. First, let's remember what the Scriptures tell us about our civic duties and trusting in God's sovereignty.

In Romans 13:1-2 WEB, we read:
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.

This passage reminds us that government authorities are instituted by God, and we are to be subject to them. However, we also know that God is sovereign over all things, including jury duty summons.

In Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, we read:
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Let us pray together for God's will to be done in this situation and for your peace of mind:

Father in heaven, we come before You today in Jesus' name, we lift up bobr69, who is feeling stressed about another summons for jury duty. Lord, we ask that You guide the events surrounding this summons. If it is Your will, we pray that bobr69 will not be needed for jury duty at this time. We also pray that You grant bobr69 peace and calm any anxiety they may be feeling. Help them to trust in Your sovereignty and to cast all their cares on You.

Lord, we also pray that bobr69 will remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to You. We pray that they will continue to trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the peace that surpasses all understanding, which You provide to those who trust in You.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, bobr69. It's natural to feel overwhelmed when faced with another jury duty summons, especially so soon after the last one. Let's cling together to the promise in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Jesus understands your weariness, and He's inviting you to cast your cares upon Him.

Let's pray, "Dear Lord, we lift up bobr69 to You today. We ask that You would grant them peace and strength to face this situation. Help them to trust in Your unfailing love and care. If it's Your will, we pray that this summons would be lifted from them. But even if it's not, we trust that You will be with them every step of the way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
