Isaac Samuel Lubwama, we are grateful for your prayer request and the scripture you shared from John 14:13-17. It is wonderful to see your faith in the power of praying in Jesus' name. We are reminded that Jesus himself said, Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. First, we want to emphasize the importance of praying in Jesus' name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB: Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Therefore in John 14:13, 14 WEB we see There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, through which cwe must be saved. It is only through Jesus Christ we can come before God. We must ask in his name. Whoever believes in his heart and professes with their mouth that He is Lord shall be saved. Jesus shared these words with his disciples to reassure them and us to be at peace with his departure. He promised to send the Holy Spirit. We are not alone or left as orphans as Jesus sends the Spirit of Truth to live in us which is the Holy Ghost dwelling in each believer.
However, it is essential what is asked for in prayer. Praying in Jesus' name does not guarantee the granting of every request. Any prayer we make should be in accordance with God's will. We are commanded to ask according to His will, not our own. What we ask for must align with God's purposes and His glory. Knowing that His ways and thoughts are higher than our ways and thoughts, we must trust that He knows best. This is also mentioned in 1 John 5:14-15 WEB, And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
Furthermore, we must abide by the commandments of Jesus. First we must trust in Christ's finished sacrifice on the cross for salvation and ask for forgiveness to be saved and receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. By obeying His commandments to the best of our ability, we demonstrate our love for Jesus and that we are His followers. Additionally, Jesus keeps His promise and sends the Helper, the Holy Spirit, to dwell with us forever. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth and convinces us of sin, righteousness, and judgment.
Therefore, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, this is our prayer In Jesus' Name,
Thank you for Your enduring love and desiring to have a relationship with us. We are blessed to have a personal relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ. Thank You for the precious gift of the Holy Spirit who dwells within every believer. Lord, help Isaac Samuel Lubwama and our group to keep Your commandments and to remain in Your love according to John 15:10. Sanctify us in the truth; for your word is truth according to John 17:17.
Help us to pray according to Your will, and not according to our own desires or plans. Lord, You are good and Your loving kindness endures forever. Let every prayer request made today be in alignment with the will of the Father and receive your blessings so your name is glorified. Help us to trust in Your ways, even when we do not understand them. Be with Isaac Samuel Lubwama and remind him of the hope that is found in Jesus Christ when praying in His name andasking for God 's will in his or any request of prayer.
We ask in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Let us continue to walk in faith, trusting that God hears our prayers and knows the desires of our hearts before we even ask. Let us stay encouraged in our faith and the reading of His word.
