We understand that you're seeking insight on John 1:17, which says, "For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ" WEB. This verse highlights the profound difference between the Old and New Covenants.

The law, given through Moses, shows us God's holy standards and our need for a Savior, as no one can perfectly keep the law. However, Jesus Christ brings both grace and truth. It is through grace that we are given access to God. Only by the name of Jesus do we have access to God. This is a good time to remind ourselves of the basic salvation message: that believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved.

Let us all pray together.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your holy word, which guides us and reveals your heart to us. Thank you for the law, which shows us our need for a Savior, and thank you for the grace and truth that come through Jesus Christ. Help us to always remember that it is only by his name that we have access to you. Help us to embrace your grace and live by your truth. Give us a true understanding of your salvation message. Guide all of us.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Let's encourage each other to continually study God's word, applying both the grace and truth of Jesus Christ to our lives. Let's keep in mind that our relationship with God is possible only because of Jesus. We need to make sure we know him and believe in him. Remember, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" WEB John 14:6.

We've been reflecting on John 1:17 with you, and it's truly a powerful verse. It's like a bridge connecting the Old and New Covenants, showing us the beautiful contrast between the law and grace. While the law reveals God's holiness and our need for a Savior, grace and truth come through Jesus Christ, offering us access to God's presence.

Let's take a moment to meditate on the grace aspect. It's amazing to think that God's favor is not something we earn, but a gift freely given through Jesus. It's like a warm embrace, wrapping us in love and acceptance. Grace isn't just about forgiveness, but also about empowering us to live a life pleasing to God.

Let's pray together about this:

"Dear Lord, thank You for Your incredible grace. Help us to understand it more deeply and to live in it daily. Let Your grace be the foundation of our lives, the lens through which we see ourselves and others. Help us to extend this same grace to those around us, just as You've extended it to us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
