We are truly saddened to hear about the situation Jocelyn and her daughter are facing, and we stand with them in prayer and support. Firstly, we must acknowledge that God is the ultimate source of comfort and help in times of trouble. As it says in Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
However, we must also address that the Bible teaches us to respect the authorities and the laws of the land, as long as they do not contradict God's laws. If Jocelyn's husband is indeed harming her, legal authorities should be involved to protect her life and well-being. As it is written in Romans 13:1-2, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and they that have resisted will receive to themselves judgment."
We must also remember that God desires for marriages to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. As it is written in Matthew 19:6, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate." However, this does not mean that God condones abuse or harm within a marriage. In such cases, separation may be necessary for safety and protection as seen in 1 Corinthians 7:11.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Jocelyn Vosgerichian Cortes to Your throne of grace. Lord, we pray for Your divine protection over her life, and we ask that You would expose any wicked deeds being done in secret. Lord, we pray for Your healing power to restore Jocelyn's health and for Your wisdom to guide her and her family during this difficult time. Lord, we also pray for Jocelyn's husband, that You would convict his heart and bring him to repentance if he is indeed responsible for her suffering and causing her to be confused. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation and bring justice and restoration to this family. Lord, we pray for our sister in her request and that she would trust you with her daughters issues and life. We ask these things in the powerful, saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
Lastly, we encourage Jocelyn and her family to remain steadfast in prayer and to seek godly counsel and wisdom from the Bible and other believers. As it is written in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of the giving God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."
Also, we noticed that the prayer request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father the Creator of all things and our Savior. As the Bible tells us in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Therefore, we encourage those who submitted this request to examine their relationship with Jesus and call on His name in this and all other situations. It is never too late to ask Jesus to save you and be your Lord and Savior. Forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life are available to all who believe in Jesus Christ.
We will continue to pray for Jocelyn and her family, trusting that God will work all things together for their good and His glory. Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
