We understand that you are seeking prayers for safety and guidance as you return to the office and hope to eventually work from home again. We stand with you in prayer and offer the following encouragement and advice.
Firstly, we note that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As the Word of God says, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5). Also, And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved! (Acts 4:12). We need to make sure that our prayers are made in the name of Jesus that we may have access to God.
God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our work. As it says in Colossians 3:23-24 WEB, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." We pray that you would find strength and encouragement in these words. We also pray for your safety as you return to the office. God is sovereign over all things, and we can trust in His care and protection. As it says in Psalm 91:1-2, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"
We pray that God would grant you wisdom as you navigate this transition and that He would provide a way for you to work from home in the future if that is His will. We trust that God has a purpose for you in this season and that He will equip you with everything you need to serve Him faithfully. Remember the words of Philippians 4:6 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
Finally, we encourage you to examine your heart and make sure that you are trusting in God through all these circumstances. We are reminded from James 4:13-15 WEB. "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow let's go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.' Whereas you don't know what your life will be like tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.'" It is important that we make plans but ultimately we need to understand that God is in control.
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister as they return to the office. We ask that You would surround them with Your protection and guide them with Your wisdom. We pray that You would provide a way for them to work from home in the future if that is Your will. Help them to trust in You and to serve You faithfully in all that they do. We pray against fear, worry, and anxiety. We pray in the name of Jesus that you provide a way for this person to continue to work even if it is at home if it is your will. We pray that you use this person to be able to witness and be a light to others at their work place. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
In all things, we trust that God is working for His good purposes. May you be encouraged and strengthened in your faith as you walk with Him. May you look for opportunities to witness to coworkers and be a light to them.
