Boedion, we are here to pray and support you in your job search. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every aspect of your life, including your career. It is important to include Jesus in your request. So if you did not intend to, let us reassure you that it is by the name of Jesus that we are to approach God the Father for his help and today we invite you to call upon him as well. As stated in scripture we have no ability to call upon God's name without accepting Jesus as Lord and savior.
While there is so much about the job that you are seeking that is not included in your request we know that God knows your heart and your need. Firstly, let us remember the Apostle Paul's admonition:
If any will not work, do not let him eat. For we hear of some who walk among you in laziness. They are not busy. They are just busybodies 2 Thessalonians 3:10-11.
We should note that God wants us to work and be productive and though unemployment may be difficult God desires us to have work. So we can rejoice in knowing that finding a job is a righteous desire. Laziness and sloth are not godly and God desires us to work to provide for ourselves and others
For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If any will not work, neither let them eat. For we hear that there are some who walk among you in rebellion, who do not work at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread. But you, brothers and sisters, do not be weary in well doing. 2 Thessalonians 3:10-13.
It is important to note that finding a job is not simply a matter of finding something to do to get paid. Rather God desires that we find a job that he has for us. Just as it is God who provides every good thing for us, it is God that provides us with work.
Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive Acts 20:25.
We should be seeking to give and provide for others as God provides for us. And it is not just for the sake of the work itself that we want to do the work.
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all of your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave where you are going Ecclesiastes 9:10.
We should be glad in knowing that the work is not just for the sake of the work itself but for the sake of God's kingdom and God's glory. Whatever job we find we are to do it with all our might.
Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest. He who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to eternal life; that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this the saying is true, One sows, and another reaps. I sent you to reap that for which you haven't labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor John 4:35-38.
And that is what we are to be doing. We are to be seeking those things that the Lord has prepared for us to do for his name's sake for the glory of his name.
Let's bring your request to God in prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Boedion to you, you who has created every person for a purpose. We ask that you guide them in their job search. We know God that you have prepared good works in advance for us to do and we trust that you will lead Cathy to a job that aligns with your will.
Lord, we pray that you open the right doors and close the wrong ones. Give Boedion discernment and wisdom to recognize the opportunities you have placed before them. We pray that you provide them with a job that not only meets their financial needs but also allows them to use their talents and abilities to serve you and others.
Help Boedion to trust in your timing and provision. Remind them that you are faithful and that you care for them deeply. We ask this all in Jesus' name.
Amen.
Boedion, as you wait on the Lord, continue to seek him with all your heart. Trust that he has a plan and a purpose for you.
We encourage you to meditate on the following verse:
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.
